Gonepalholiday travel companion app launched

KATHMANDU, JUL 03 - Incentive Holidays has launched a smart travel companion app for travellers named Gonepalholiday with an online payment gateway.
Gonepalholiday improves travellers’ in-trip experience by displaying a contextual, actionable view of the itinerary of Nepal’s popular destinations, hotels, trekking routes and maps besides other travel and tourism related information, the company said.
Travellers can download the Gonepalholiday app from Gonepalholiday.com on smartphones running Android or iPhone operating system.
The app released on Thursday has been designed as a personal guide to extraordinary travel experience in Nepal. This robust itinerary management app provides vital travel information with the touch of a finger, the company said.
“Mobile devices have become one of the most important traveller resources, but there are just a handful of apps that address the specific needs of travellers,” said Hari Man Lama, executive chairman at Incentive Holidays.   “Gonepalholiday reflects our commitment to providing new services to improve travel programmes and the quality of trips.”
“We will be gradually incorporating information on hotels, homestays and other tourism services that are not currently included on it. We believe the app will be a key communications tool for encouraging travellers to make smart choices during their trips, and also help to promote Nepal during this crucial period.”
Meanwhile, the company has also launched an online travel magazine named Gonepal E-magazine which describes Nepal’s tourism status post-earthquake.
“We all know that Nepal is facing a number of tourism challenges after the April 25 earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. Despite a negative portrait of Nepal in the international arena, it still represents a remarkable destination,” said Lama. The quarterly magazine highlights tourist safety and provides a number of tips on choosing the best travel destination.
