Everest Base Camp 2015 Avalanche

On 25 april 2015, an earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude triggered an avalanche hitiing Everest Base Camp. At least 19 people were said to have been killed.

Is it possible to trek Everest Base Camp after Nepal Earthquake 2015?

After the devasting Earthquake, peoples from all over the world are asking if Everest Base Camp Trek is safe? or will it be continued in next season?, we say Yes. Everest Base Camp is safe for trekking and it is good news to all trekkers that all the treks scheduled for next September-November season are going.

It is the biggest concern of Travel, Tour and Trekking agencies, Porters, Trekking guides, locals that in the upcoming tourist season will be there visitors for this trekking route. As per our guides and porter reported by visiting the trekking route, we are listing here the actual condition of the trek route with the recent updates.

Everest Base Camp Trek route status

Lukla: Almost zero effect of the earthquake in Lukla, all hotels and homes are safe, airstip is fully functional, electricity and internet is working well.

Phakding: Very little effect in Phakding, some houses are damaged but you can find plenty of places to stay. Internet is not working but it will be working by the september.
 
Monjo: Partially tea houses are damaged.

Jorsale: partially tea houses are damaged but no worry to find the hotels here.

Namche Bazzar:
Tea houses are damaged but there are plenty of hotels to stay. Internet is not working now but it will be functional by the september.

Kyangjuma: No effect of the earthquake in the village.

Tengboche: Some tea houses are damaged but most of the hotels are operational.

Deboche: No effect of the earthquake.

Pangboche: Few hotels are affected but most of the tea houses are safe to stay.

Shomare: Few tea houses are affected but there are plenty of hotels to stay.

Dingboche: No damage.

Periche: Earthquake had damaged badly in periche, almost all the houses are damaged.

Dughla: No damage.

Lobuche: Three tea houses are damaged but several hotels are in operational.

Gorakshep: All the tea houses are safe and only few are with negligible cracks but they are in good operational.
